The Ocean City Yacht Club, established in 1901, is rich in both history and tradition. We have one of the most active and competitive sailing programs in the Mid Atlantic region including both bay racing and off-shore racing. We are very pleased to host the 2014 Atlantic City Race Week including the Leukemia Cup Regatta for the benefit of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. In addition to sailing, power boating activities and fishing events take place throughout the summer as well.
The Junior sailing program provides sailing lessons to over 100 young people ages seven years and older. Many members of the Junior Sailing Program participate in Mid-Atlantic Racing Association Races as well as national and international competitions. In addition to learning to sail, the children spend wonderful, hot summer days together, and truly make friends for life. The junior activity program includes evening dances, kayak races, trips to explore sea life at Corsons' Inlet State Park, beach days, and other events.
On shore activities for adult members include a very active bridge program, a book club, dinners and dances, and lots of informal conversation on the deck while the sun is setting over the bay. For membership information, we invite you to go to Join OCYC. Our mission, established many years ago, still stands today:
ENCOURAGING AND PROMOTING AMATEUR YACHTING ON THE GREAT EGG HARBOR BAY AND IT’S TRIBUTARIES.
