Construction and Temporary Building Closure - Replacement of Clubhouse Windows

Dear OCYC Members:

This Fall the club is undergoing a major repair project; the windows on the west side of the building that make our club a true ‘cathedral clubhouse’ will be replaced.  Your Board of Governors, lead by Past Commodore Carl Bastian, have put considerable thought and energy behind this project, choosing thoughtfully exactly what we as a club needed to do for safety and the longevity of the physical plant.  All windows on the west side of the main ballroom will be replaced along with the back door to the deck and transom windows above the door.

Starting this Sunday, October 27th, the entire south and west side of the club, including the entire tent and crane area to the bulkhead and any pavement west of the ice machine will be off limits.  It might be obvious, but I will say it anyway, with equipment and large glass panels there is too much risk for anyone to go into these areas.   Do not go into these areas or others that may be barricaded as the work progress.  Because of the way the installation has been planned, there are some events that will take place in between certain phases of the work on the inside only.  Weather will play a factor so pray for sunshine!  An update will go out when our beautiful cathedral windows are brand new again.

Sincerely,
Commodore Jennifer Ray Beckman
